    1. Completely took me by surprise. To be honest, I am not a short fiction person but there are some serious writings here. This book has poetry, scribblings, comics and short fiction in only 78 pages. Worth a read and totally recommended.


    2. I have mixed feelings about this anthology. It feels more like Mongrel Books was trying to establish its presence and less interested in putting a robust collection of stories out there. The majority of the stories suffer simply because they weren't given enough time to ferment and come into their own as a a story rather than a mouthpiece for the author. This is where the more seasoned writers fare better; their stories are still a bit more polished. That said, this book is worth buying for the [...]


    3. It's not that the book is badly compiled or the chosen submissions terribly written, it's just that it isn't good enough. I like the idea behind it: give a theme and have individuals interpret it in their own way so there's poetry and a comic and some short stories amongst other things. The contributors have written about the breaking up of countries and couples and families and friends and spirits. All well and good and relatable even except the content isn't memorable.
